ABSTRACT:
A composition particularly effective as a high temperature lubricant for molds used in glass-forming operations and effective at high temperatures of the order of about 1,000.degree. F, comprising a mixture of graphite and a high melting inorganic oxide or salt, preferably potassium titanate, and an inorganic binder e.g. a slurry of magnesium oxide in a mixture of phosphoric acid and chromic acid. The mold lubricant composition also preferably contains a wetting agent, e.g. butyl Cellosolve (ethylene glycol monobutyl ether).
