ABSTRACT:
The electronic musical instrument is provided with a tone production means having tone production channels less than the total number of keys, a performance mode change detecting means, and a means for controlling tone production assignment of the tone production channels.
The tone production assignment is controlled by depressed keys to one of the detecting means to produce a tone from one of the channel groups grouped according to the output of the detecting means. The selected tone production channel corresponds to the key group which the depressed keys belong to.
