ABSTRACT:
Reaction of a beta-aminopropionamide with an acrylic acid or its derivative provides an N-substituted acrylamide monomer having cationic substituents attached thereto. The instant reaction occurs under mild processing conditions at a temperature between about 160.degree. C. and 230.degree. C.
