ABSTRACT:
Disclosed is a process for preparing noble metal-containing zeolites suitable for use in catalytic reforming which process comprises: (a) treating an alkaline faujasites or L-type zeolites with Pt(acetylacetonate).sub.2 or Pd(acetylacetonate).sub.2 for an effective amount of time to form a substantially homogeneous mixture and to incorporate Pt and/or Pd into the pore regions of the zeolite, but not to disperse it throughout the entire zeolite; and (b) calcining the mixture at a temperature from about 250.degree. C. to about 600.degree. C. for an effective amount of time.
