ABSTRACT:
Improvement in a method for producing a superconducting wire of compound oxide such as YBa.sub.2 Cu.sub.3 O.sub.7-.delta. by the steps comprising filling a metal pipe with a material powder, carrying out plastic deformation of the metal pipe and then subjecting the material powder in deformed metal pipe to sintering operation. The present invention is characterized in that the heat-treatment is carried out in the coexist of silver oxide: Ag.sub.2 O placed inside the metal pipe.
