A pharmaceutical composition for prophylactic and preventive of ketosis of livestocks which contains a dithia derivative represented by the general formula (I), ##STR1## wherein R and R' may be the same or different and are each individually a lower alkyl group, n is an integer of 0, 1 or 2; and A is a group of the formula, --CH.sub.2 --, ##STR2## (wherein M is a hydrogen atom or a salt-forming residue), --CH.dbd.CH--, --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --, ##STR3##
