ABSTRACT:
Regenerative adsorption of mercury on activated carbons derived from scrap tires enables the removal and recovery of mercury from combustion/incineration flue gas, with concurrent control of SO.sub.2 and NO.sub.x. Flue gas is used for regeneration of the activated carbon, and mercury stripped from the activated carbon is recovered downstream of the regenerator.
