ABSTRACT:
Novel addition agents for lubricants, are obtained by reacting a high molecular weight olefin polymer, having an average molecular weight of at least about 600, with acetonitrile and a halogen, for example chlorine, in the presence of a catalyst, such as iodine, for example, to form the intermediate (A) which is reacted with a primary or secondary amine.
