ABSTRACT:
Method for the reaction of an olefin comprising contacting an olefin and a reactant selected from methanol, dimethyl ether, or mixtures thereof, with zinc iodide, zinc bromide, or mixtures thereof, at a temperature of from about 180.degree. C. to 450.degree. C.
