ABSTRACT:
A method for measuring the velocity of shear waves in a formation beneath a body of water. The shear wave velocity is derived from the parameters of water density, water-bottom reflection coefficient, formation compressional wave, velocity and the propagation velocity of a submarine ground-roll wave front.
