ABSTRACT:
A magnetic recording medium is disclosed which comprises a non-magnetic support having provided thereon a magnetic layer, the magnetic layer comprising a first magnetic layer provided on the non-magnetic support containing ferromagnetic alloy particles and a second magnetic layer provided on the first magnetic layer containing hexagonal crystallized ferrite type magnetic particles, wherein the second magnetic layer has a thickness of 0.5 .mu.m or less.
