ABSTRACT:
A method of lowering blood lipid levels, comprising administering to a patient in need of such treatment an effective amount of a compound of formula I ##STR1## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein R.sup.1 is hydroxy or a group capable of being removed in vivo to produce a compound of formula I wherein R.sup.1 is OH; and
