ABSTRACT:
A silver halide photographic material comprising at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a support, wherein the latent image distribution of silver halide grains contained in the at least one emulsion layer has at least one peak value within the grains, the location of the peak value is at a depth of less than 0.01 .mu.m from the surface of the grains, and the average silver iodide content of the grains is about 15 mol % or less.
