ABSTRACT:
A process for forming photographic images comprising a silver image and a dye image, comprising development processing an imagewise exposed silver halide photographic light-sensitive material containing a 4-alkoxy-1-naphthol represented by the formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R represents an alkyl group, an alkoxyalkyl group, or a hydroxyalkyl group, and the number of carbon atoms in the substituent represented by R is from 1 to 4.
The process of this invention is particularly useful in the field of X-ray photography, in order to provide an image of increased density for a given silver content. A novel silver halide photographic light-sensitive material includes the above 4-alkoxy-1-naphthol in a photographic colloid layer thereof, preferably the silver halide emulsion layer.
