Hexamethylenetetramine-N-acetyl-thiazolidine-4-carboxylate having formula (I) ##STR1## is endowed with antibacterial and mucosecretolytic properties. These properties along with the very low toxicity of the compound (I) make it particularly suited for the chemotherapeutical treatment of the affections of the urinary and intestinal tracts, and for the treatment of bladder and intestinal catarrhs.
