ABSTRACT:
The present invention provides a photosensitive member comprising a butadiene compound represented by the following general formula (I); ##STR1## wherein Z is a residual group forming a five or a six membered ring together with carbon atom, nitrogen atom and a benzene ring; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 represent hydrogen atom, halogen atom, an alkyl group or an alkoxy group respectively, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may form a benzene ring in combination with each other; R.sub.3 is an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, or an aryl group, each of which may have a substituent; R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 represent an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, or an aryl group, each of which may have a substituent, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 may form a ring in combination with each other, which is excellent in the stability of surface potential, the charge transporting ability, the sensitivity, the resistance to dark decay, the light fatigue resistance, the repetition properties thereof and so on.
