ABSTRACT:
A stable substrate formulation for an alkaline phosphatase assay includes 5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl phosphate, nitro blue tetrazolium and a 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol buffer. Addition of MgCl.sub.2 to this formulation promotes stability.
