ABSTRACT:
An image forming apparatus having a first convey device for conveying recording material to an image forming position where a toner image is formed on the recording material, the first convey device having a recording material bearing member for bearing the recording material; a fixing device for fixing the toner image onto the recording material, the fixing means device having a pair of rotary members for pinching and conveying the recording material, and oil being adhered to one of the rotary members with which the toner image is contacted; and a second convey device for turning over the recording material after a fixing operation and for conveying the recording material to the recording material bearing member. The apparatus further includes a cleaning device for cleaning the recording material bearing member, the cleaning device having a surface contacting with the recording material bearing member. The surface has a non-woven cloth including fibers having an average thickness of below 10 .mu.m a density of 0.05 to 0.80 g/cm.sup.3, and 70% or more of the fibers having a thickness of below 10 .mu.m.
