ABSTRACT:
A waveform synthesizing apparatus provides a waveform memory containing m memory groups each further including n memories, so that the waveform memory contains m.times.n memories each storing at least one pair of musical tone data corresponding to a musical waveform. In addition, a musical parameter is converted into selection data in accordance with the predetermined conversion characteristic. At first, desirable one of the memory groups is selected. Then, two memories are selected from the selected memory group in accordance with the selection data. Thereafter, two pairs of musical tone data are mixed together by a ratio corresponding to the selection data. Thus, a synthesized musical waveform can be obtained from the mixed musical tone data. Preferably, the musical parameter is a key code, key-striking intensity applied to each key of a keyboard provided in an electronic musical instrument and the like.
