ABSTRACT:
The housing 2 is integrally formed with a cylindrical support portion 6. A cylindrical bore 30a is formed through the support portion 6. An inner diameter of the bore 30a is made substantially equal to an outer diameter of the semiconductor laser 4. The semiconductor laser 4 is therefore supported in the bore 30a. A lens barrel 7 holds therein a collimator lens 5. The outer diameter of the lens barrel 7 is also substantially equal to the inner diameter of the bore 30a. The lens barrel 7 is also supported in the bore 30a.
