ABSTRACT:
A heavy duty radial tire, which comprises a belt comprising three plies of cords laid at an angle of from 5 to 70 degrees with respect to the tire equator, the widest belt ply defining a belt radius as measured from the tire axis to the radially inner surface thereof, the difference (RB1-RB2) of the belt radius (RB1) measured at a pair of axially inner points P from the belt radius (RB2) measured at a pair of axially outer points Q in an unloaded state being in the range of 0 to 0.05 times a half ground contacting width SL, each inner point P spaced apart from the tire equator toward each side thereof by a distance of 0.25 times the axial width (BWM) of the widest belt ply, each outer point Q located axially outward of each inner point P and spaced apart from the tire equator by a distance of 0.45 times the axial width (BWM) of the widest belt ply, whereby uneven tread wear between the tread crown and tread shoulder is reduced without deteriorating high-speed durability.
