ABSTRACT:
An improvement in a power transmission belt of the type having a body with a length, laterally spaced sides, an inside, an outside, teeth spaced in a lengthwise direction on the inside of the body, grooves between adjacent teeth, and a longitudinally extending load carrying cord. The power transmission belt further has a power transmission area on the body defined between the load carrying cord and a line spaced inside of the load carrying cord a distance approximately 2/3 H, where H is the distance between the load carrying cord and the inside of the body. The invention is also directed to a method of forming the above belt.
