Compounds possessing valuable therapeutic activity particularly as lipoxygenase inhibitors possessing anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties, of the formula: ##STR1## wherein Z is an unsubstituted normal alkylene chain of up to 8 carbon atoms or a substituted normal alkylene chain in which the substituent is lower alkyl, phenyl or benzyl containing up to 8 carbon atoms in the normal chain and up to a total of about 12 carbon atoms;
