ABSTRACT:
p-Chlorotoluene can be prepared in an improved manner by catalyzed reaction of toluene with a chlorinating agent if a zeolite L containing metal cations is employed as the catalyst and the reaction is carried out in the presence of methylene chloride and/or chloroform.
