ABSTRACT:
A combination of (1) magnesium hydroxide and (2) alumina trihydrate has been found to have synergestic properties in reducing smoke and/or flame spread in many polymer compositions when compared to the use of either alone. In some cases even better results are obtained by including antimony trioxide or antimony trioxide together with finely divided silica.
