ABSTRACT:
Preparation of benzimidazol-2-yl-carbamic acid alkyl esters of the formula ##SPC1##
In which
R.sup.1 is alkyl of 1 to 12 carbon atoms optionally substituted by alkoxy, alkylmercapto, nitrile, carbamide, alkenyl, alkynyl or halogen,
R.sup.2 is hydrogen, halogen or lower alkyl or alkoxy, and
R.sup.3 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, by reacting a 2-aminobenzimidazole of the formula ##SPC2##
