ABSTRACT:
A silver halide photographic material is disclosed, comprising a support having thereon at least one of silver halide photographic emulsion layers and other hydrophilic colloid layers, wherein at least one of said silver halide photographic emulsion layers and other hydrophilic colloid layers contains a compound represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein at least one of A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 represent a hydrogen atom and the other represents a hydrogen atom, a sulfonyl group or an acyl group; G.sub.1 represents a carbonyl group, a sulfonyl group, a sulfoxy group, a ##STR2## group, a ##STR3## group, or an iminomethylene group; L.sub.1 represents a bivalent group; X.sub.1 represents --O-- or an ##STR4## group wherein R.sub.4 is hydrogen, an alkyl group or an aryl group; Y.sub.1 represents ##STR5## R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represents an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, --OR.sub.5 or --NR.sub.5 R.sub.6 wherein R.sub.5 is an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group, and R.sub.6 is a hydrogen atom, an liphatic group, an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group; and R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkoxy group, an aralkyl group, an aryloxy group, a hydrazino group or an amino group.
