ABSTRACT:
Polychloroprene, optionally modified with sulphur, is obtained having improved properties and light in color if, in the course of polymerization, from 1.5.times.10.sup.-2 to 4.times.10.sup.-4 mol of a tetraalkyl thiuramic disulphide per 100 g of monomer are added when from 56 to 74% of the monomer has been converted, and polymerization is then continued for a further conversion of from 3 to 10%.
