The novel cyclic urethanes, and their pharmaceutically-acceptable salts and esters, described herein which are useful as antiarrhythmic and antifibrillatory agents and have the following general structure: ##STR1## wherein (a) X is a saturated or unsaturated, 5-, 6-, or 7-membered heterocycle or carbocycle;
