ABSTRACT:
Compounds of the formula ##STR1## in which R is hydrogen or hydroxyl, R.sub.1 is alkyl, alkoxy, amino or aryl, and R.sub.2 is hydrocarbylcarbonyl or hydrocarbylsulfonyl, are highly suitable for stabilizing magenta couplers in photographic materials.
