ABSTRACT:
To obtain a compound of formula (I), an anhydride (II) is reacted with a heterocyclic alcohol (III). After the reaction, the excess (meth)acrylic anhydride can be hydrolysed to (meth)acrylic acid by addition of water and heating between 25.degree. and 70.degree. C., preferably between 30.degree. and 50.degree. C., in order to obtain the compound (I) in solution in water and (meth)acrylic acid: ##STR1## R.sup.1 .dbd.H or CH.sub.3 ; A and B each independently represent a straight- or branched-chain C.sub.2 -C.sub.5 alkylene group.
