ABSTRACT:
A silver halide photographic material which provides a negative image is disclosed. The photographic material contains a compound represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R represents an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, or a heterocyclic group; and Z represents an atomic group necessary to form a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic aromatic group, and provides a negative image having high contract, high sensitivity, an satisfactory dot image quality.
