ABSTRACT:
Bismuth vanadate pigment in the form of the tetragonal crystal structure of Scheelite useful in coloring lacquers and synthetic plastics or resins containing 0.1 to 0.3 mol ZrO.sub.2 (per mol of BiVO.sub.4) is prepared by heat treating mixed precipitates of aqueous solutions of bismuth, vanadate and zirconium salts, followed by washing, drying and grinding to pigment fineness.
