ABSTRACT:
Process for preparing bicyclic diols of the formula ##STR1## wherein C.sub.p H.sub.2p is a valence bond or alkylene of one to 4 carbon atoms, inclusive, with one or 2 carbon atoms in the chain between the phenylene ring and --0--; wherein Y is a hydrocarbyl or substituted hydrocarbyl group; and wherein .about. indicates attachment to the cyclopropane ring in exo or endo configuration. These diols and the intermediates prepared herein are useful intermediates in preparing prostaglandin analogs having pharmacological utility.
