ABSTRACT:
Can seamer apparatus for fixedly sealable associating a can end member with a can body member to form a can with contents sealed therewithin comprising a lightweight control rod assembly means reciprocably mounted in a guide bore for movement between an extended position of engagement with a can end member and a retracted position of disengagement relative thereto with a resilient cushion means on one end thereof and a spring means associated therewith to provide a predetermined minimum force on the end member and having fluid flow control and discharge means associated therewith to limit axial fluid flow into and to discharge fluid from the bore circumjacent the control rod assembly.
