ABSTRACT:
Fermentation broths or impure solutions containing thienamycin, a substance having antibiotic activity against gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms, are purified using ion exchange resins, poly-acrylamide gels or adsorbents such as polyester polymers or polystyrene, hydrophobic crosslinked divinyl benzene polymers.
