ABSTRACT:
This invention relates to a process for preparing .alpha.-amino phosphonic acid derivatives which comprises reacting a nitrile with a phosphite ester under hydrogenation conditions; and to the .alpha.-amino phosphonic acid derivatives formed and uses thereof.
