ABSTRACT:
Selected novel vic-dialkoxyperfluoroalkyl-vic-diol cyclic sulfates, e.g., 2,3-dimethoxyhexafluorobutane-2,3-diol cyclic sulfate, useful for preparing the corresponding perfluoro-.alpha.-diketones, e.g., hexafluorobiacetyl (known), are synthesized by reacting SO.sub.3 with a vic-dialkoxypolyfluoroalkene, e.g., 2,3-dimethoxyhexafluorobutene-2.
