ABSTRACT:
An IC card has a data memory for storing at least one registration key data and a control element for controlling the data memory and is adapted to receive key data, as collation data, from an outside, collate it with the registration key data stored in the data memory, hold a result of collation in a holding section such as a RAM, and determine whether or not a subsequent access instruction be executed for the data memory. A present system above includes a unit, responsive to instruction data input from the outside, for internally clearing the collation result of the key data. As a result, the collation result of the key data is not held at all times during a power supply. It is thus possible to prevent any unauthorized access to an IC card data by an unauthorized person during the power supply and to structure a flexible system.
