ABSTRACT:
There is disclosed a method for treatment of food allergies by desensitizing the gastrointestinal tract comprising the oral ingestion of a chemical composition wherein the composition comprises butyric acid or a salt thereof. It further may comprise B.sub.2 vitamin riboflavin, ethyl cellulose as a time release preparation, and salts of capric, caproic and caprylic acids.
