ABSTRACT:
A process for manufacturing a color filter using a silver halide light-sensitive material comprising a support having thereon at least a light-sensitive silver halide, a color coupler and a hydrophilic binder, which process comprises the steps of: processing the silver halide light-sensitive material to obtain a color filter layer formed on the support, the color filter layer having a swelling ratio with water at 40.degree. C. of 200% or less; and coating the color filter layer with a water-impermeable protective film having a thickness of from 0.1 to 10 .mu.m.
