ABSTRACT:
A dye-donor element for thermal dye transfer comprises a support having thereon a dye dispersed in a polymeric binder, the dye comprising a thiazolylmethylene-2-pyrazoline-5-one. In a preferred embodiment, the dye has the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having from 1 to about 10 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group having from about 5 to about 7 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl or hetaryl group having from about 2 to about 10 carbon atoms;
