ABSTRACT:
Steroids having the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is alkyl, aryl, or arylalkyl; R.sub.2 is hydrogen or halogen; R.sub.3 is hydrogen, methyl or fluorine; R.sub.4 is chlorine, fluorine or hydroxy and R.sub.5 is hydrogen or R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 together are =0; R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are the same or different and are hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, carboalkoxy, formyl, ##STR2## hydroxy, halogen, phenyl or cyano with the proviso that when R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are different, one of R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 is hydrogen; R.sub.8 is hydrogen or ##STR3## wherein R.sub.9 and R.sub.10 are the same or different and are hydrogen or alkyl have useful antiinflammatory activity.
