ABSTRACT:
A ring detector employs a d.c. blocking capacitor in series reactively with the telephone line, a control element and another terminal of a semiconductor, applying ring voltage and causing conduction, oscillation or latching in the semiconductor. A resistor, transformer, rectifier, a second charging capacitor or all of these may be placed between the capacitor and the semiconductor.
