ABSTRACT:
A process is provided for the recovery of citronellal and homologous unsaturated aldehydes from alcohol solutions thereof which comprises adding to the solution a small amount of water and an alkali or alkaline earth salt of a boric acid, and then distilling off the alcohol and recovering the citronellal or homologous unsaturated aldehyde.
