ABSTRACT:
A silver halide photographic material which contains (a) at least one redox compound capable of releasing a development inhibitor by oxidation and (b) at least one compound represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, or a heterocyclyl group; L.sub.1 represents a divalent organic group; X.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, or a heterocyclyl group; and Y.sub.1 represents --O--, --SO.sub.2 NH-- or ##STR2## where Y.sub.2 represents --O--, --NH--, or ##STR3##
