ABSTRACT:
An image processor for performing image processing operations on one or more designated areas of an original. Three bit maps are used to store the processing operations, with each bit map storing one bit of the code for each region. Thus, one of 2.sup.3 processing operations can be stored for each portion of a designated region. As the original is read in, corresponding bits of the three bit maps are read out. These three bits address a table containing a function code identifying the processing operation to be performed on the corresponding portion of the original.
