ABSTRACT:
A detergent tablet comprising an alkaline salt is provided with a coating of a hydrated salt having a melting point in the range from 30.degree. C. to 95.degree. C. The coating is applied in the form of a melt of the hydrated salt so that a good coating is formed without the need for lengthy drying times. Preferred materials for the coating are sodium acetate trihydrate, sodium metaborate tetrahydrate and sodium orthophosphate dodecahydrate.
