ABSTRACT:
Tri(fluoroaliphatic amines) wherein there is at least one fluorine atom on one carbon alpha to the tertiary nitrogen are reacted with SO.sub.3 to produce tri(fluoroaliphatic) alpha fluosulfato amines which can be hydrolyzed under controlled conditions to produce oxo or hydroxyl derivatives by removal of the fluosulfato group (OSO.sub.2 F), which derivatives can also be further hydrolyzed to useful products.
