ABSTRACT:
A silver halide photographic material comprising;
a support; at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a hydrazine derivative on the support; at least one hydrophilic colloid layer containing a redox compound capable of releasing a development inhibitor upon oxidation; and a developing agent incorporated, at least, into the at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer or the at least one hydrophilic colloid layer and a method for forming an image which comprises the steps of imagewise exposing to light the silver halide photographic material described above; and developing the exposed material with a developing solution having a sulfite ion concentration of at least about 0.15 mol/l and a pH of from about 10.5 to about 12.3.
